I discovered The Minimalist through their documentary on Netflix. Catch it there while you still can! The Minimalists are two friends who basically decided to get rid of all of their useless s*** and live a life full of love and connection rather than a life filled with stuff. As they minimized the “things” in their lives, they maximized their happiness. The Minimalists inspired me to begin this blogging website when they posted a guide on their website teaching how to create a successful blog. That post was my bible while I stumbled my way through creating this website. See that blog here.
After watching their documentary on Netflix, I was inspired to begin my journey into minimalism. I can’t quite call myself a minimalist just yet, but it isn’t for lack of trying! I started my journey with Project 333, and I have been successful with it so far! Project 333 is a challenge in which you choose 33 items to wear for 3 months. You can learn more about it by clicking the hyper link above. Following the directions of Project 333, I rid my life of three 15-gallon garbage bags worth of clothing that I just didn’t need. Though at times it brought me anxiety, I was ultimately left with an overwhelming feeling of relief and liberation, not emptiness. Since I began Project 333, I have noticed a significant change in the way that I see myself, in the way that I feel, and in the way others view me.
I hope you, too, will find yourself inspired by the Minimalists. Even if you think you could never label yourself as a “minimalist”, you can definitely discover tips to make your life a little less cluttered and a little more joyful. Just give it a chance!
